In short

The Porsche 936 that gave Porsche its first outright 24 Hours of Le Mans win, rendered as a die-cast 1:18 scale model by Werk83 with race-accurate Martini Racing livery and the Ickx/van Lennep car number 20.

In June 1976, Porsche entered two 936 spyders at Le Mans under the Martini Racing Porsche System banner. Car #20, crewed by Jacky Ickx and Gijs van Lennep, ran the full 24 hours to take the outright win. The sister car retired. Werk83 captures that singular result in die-cast at 1:18.

The Porsche 936: Group 6 Spyder Built for Endurance

Developed for the 1976 season under FIA Group 6 regulations, the Porsche 936 was a purpose-built sports prototype with an aluminium spaceframe chassis and a fibreglass body. It was powered by a turbocharged air-cooled flat-six derived from the 911 RSR Turbo, and used a 5-speed manual gearbox — compact, efficient machinery optimised for the long straights and tight chicanes of the Circuit de la Sarthe.

Ickx, van Lennep and the Martini Livery at Le Mans 1976

Jacky Ickx, who would go on to win Le Mans six times in total, was already one of the most feared drivers in endurance racing by 1976. Gijs van Lennep brought his own pedigree: the Dutch driver had co-driven the Porsche 917K to overall victory at the 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans alongside Helmut Marko. Car #20 carried the white base with diagonal red and blue Martini stripes that had become synonymous with Porsche's mid-1970s endurance programme — a livery as recognisable on the 936 as on any car of its era.

The Werk83 1:18 Scale Model Car

Spanish manufacturer Werk83 produces this replica in die-cast metal at 1:18. The brand has built a reputation among collectors for precise livery reproduction on racing subjects, and the Martini stripe geometry on the 936 — with its diagonal banding and period-correct logo placement — is a reliable test of that discipline. The result is a faithful, solid representation of one of the landmark Le Mans winners of the 1970s.
