In 1978, the Lancia Stratos with Pirelli sponsorship, driven by Markku Alén and Ilkka Kivimäki, emerged victorious at the Rallye San Remo. This iconic rally car, known for its distinctive wedge-shaped design, was a dominant force in the World Rally Championship during the 1970s.

The Lancia Stratos featured a mid-mounted V6 engine producing around 280 horsepower, coupled with its lightweight construction and superb handling, making it a formidable competitor on both tarmac and gravel stages.
