In short

A 999-piece resin 1:18 scale model of the Koenigsegg Regera — the Direct Drive hybrid hypercar that ran 0–400–0 km/h in 31.49 seconds — finished in purple metallic by GT Spirit.

The Koenigsegg Regera holds a specific place in hypercar history as the first Koenigsegg to combine an internal combustion engine with electric motors in production form, and the first road car of any kind to delete the conventional gearbox entirely in favour of the brand's own Direct Drive system. GT Spirit's 1:18 scale model renders the targa-body silhouette in closed resin construction, finished in purple metallic across a run limited to 999 numbered pieces.

The Koenigsegg Regera: carbon, torque and no gear changes

Unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and built from March 2016 to 2022, the Regera sits on a carbon-fibre and aluminium-honeycomb monocoque with a torsional rigidity of 65,000 Nm per degree. Its mid-rear 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 delivers 1,100 hp at 7,800 rpm; three YASA electric motors add a further 700 hp combined, pushing total system output above 1,500 hp and 2,000 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. Dry weight stands at 1,420 kg, and body panels are pre-impregnated carbon-fibre and Kevlar.

Eighty-five cars, one world record

Koenigsegg originally planned 80 customer Regeras; 85 were completed in total including test and crash-test units, with all customer slots sold out on 13 June 2017. On 23 September 2019 at Råda military airfield in Sweden, a Regera covered the 0–400–0 km/h sprint in 31.49 seconds, claiming the world record. Each car was individually specified: customers selected exterior colours, interior materials, and could opt for the Environmental Power Upgrade raising output to 1,781 PS. The last North American delivery took place in August 2022.

GT Spirit's resin 1:18 construction

GT Spirit produces this replica in resin with plastic detail parts, a material choice that allows sharper definition on the Regera's complex surface geometry — particularly the side air intakes and the targa roofline — than pressure-cast zinc alloy typically permits at this scale. The body is sealed, with no opening panels, so the manufacturing tolerance is concentrated on exterior panel-gap accuracy and the purple metallic finish itself. The model ships in a cardboard outer box and is limited to 999 pieces across all markets.

In the display cabinet

At 1:18, the model measures approximately 25.5 cm in length — allow at least 30 cm of shelf depth to accommodate the wide 2,050 mm real-car body translated to scale. The purple metallic finish offers strong visual contrast against silver, grey or black shelf liners. Natural companions include other GT Spirit European hypercars such as the Bugatti Chiron or Veyron, creating a coherent limited-production theme. For collectors focused on powertrain milestones, pairing it with a Koenigsegg Agera RS or Jesko replica traces the evolution of the Swedish manufacturer's twin-turbo V8 lineage across a single display row.

Frequently asked questions

How big is the 1:18 scale model?

The real Koenigsegg Regera is 4,560 mm long. Divided by 18, the model comes out at approximately 25.5 cm. Its real-car width of 2,050 mm scales to roughly 11.4 cm, so plan for a shelf space of at least 30 cm wide and 15 cm deep to display it comfortably.

Does the model have opening parts?

No. This is a sealed resin body with no opening doors, bonnet or engine cover. The detail is concentrated on the exterior surfaces: panel lines, the targa roofline, side air intakes and the purple metallic paint finish.

What material is the model made from?

GT Spirit uses resin with plastic detail parts. Resin allows the manufacturer to reproduce tighter panel gaps and more complex surface geometries than diecast zinc alloy at the same 1:18 scale.

What made the real Regera technically significant?

The Regera was Koenigsegg's first hybrid production car and the first production vehicle of any kind to use Koenigsegg Direct Drive — eliminating the conventional multi-speed gearbox entirely. Combined output from the 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors exceeds 1,500 hp, and on 23 September 2019 a Regera set the 0–400–0 km/h world record at 31.49 seconds.
