TOURING Modelcars is the own brand of Ravensberger Handelskontor, the German wholesaler that has supplied scale model cars to resellers around the world since 1994 under the management of Thomas Langejürgen. Founded in 2021 and based in Herford, the brand presented its first own releases in 2022 and focuses on 1:18 road cars: the convertibles, coupés and family estates that shaped European motoring. The stylised steering wheel in its logo is the brand's signature.

Touring models are appreciated for their opening doors and bonnets, carefully reproduced engine bays and interiors, and limited editions of no more than 700 to 900 pieces per version. At Vroomi you will find the Fiat 124 Pininfarina Spider Europa with soft top, the Alfa Romeo Duetto Spider 1600 Coda Tonda, the Opel Kadett B Caravan and the Ford Granada Coupé, each in an authentic period colour. A rich level of detail at a fair price, for collectors who love classic road cars.

In short

The 1982 Fiat 124 Spider Europa in 1:18 scale die-cast, finished in Metallic Blue — a factory period colour on one of Pininfarina's longest-running roadster commissions.

The Fiat 124 Spider ran from 1966 to 1985, an unusually long commercial life for a dedicated open sports car. The 1982 model year sits near the tail end of that run, representing the BS2-series Europa variant — the federalised, emissions-compliant edition sold across North America and select European markets. This 1:18 die-cast captures that specific chapter with a Metallic Blue finish drawn from the factory colour palette of the period.

A Twin-Cam Roadster With a 19-Year Production Run

Introduced at the 1966 Turin Motor Show, the Fiat 124 Spider was engineered around a DOHC four-cylinder fed by twin Weber carburettors. Production continued until 1985, giving the Spider one of the longest uninterrupted runs of any Italian roadster, outlasting many contemporaries by a full decade.

Pininfarina: Designer and Manufacturer

Unlike many Pininfarina commissions where the Turin house supplied only the design, the 124 Spider's body was both styled and physically manufactured by Pininfarina throughout the car's entire production life. That dual role — design house and coachbuilder simultaneously — gives the Europa a provenance that resonates with collectors of both Fiat and Pininfarina material. The Metallic Blue finish seen here is consistent with the factory colour options offered on the 1982 model year, making it a period-accurate choice rather than a later interpretation.

The 1:18 Scale Model

This replica is rendered in die-cast metal at 1:18 scale, a format that allows meaningful surface detail on a car as visually distinctive as the Spider's Pininfarina soft-top cabriolet body. The soft-top is depicted closed, consistent with the car's cabriolet configuration. The 1982 Europa is not a model that appears frequently in the 1:18 segment, which makes this choice of subject particularly relevant for collectors focused on late-analogue Italian road cars.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Fiat 124 Spider Europa?

The 124 Spider Europa was a federalised, emissions-compliant variant of the Fiat 124 Spider sold in North America and certain European markets from the mid-1970s onward. The 1982 model retained the Pininfarina soft-top cabriolet body.

What role did Pininfarina play in the 124 Spider?

Pininfarina both designed and manufactured the body of the Fiat 124 Spider for the car's entire production run from 1966 to 1985 — acting as coachbuilder, not merely stylist.

Who makes this 1:18 scale model and what material is it?

The model is a die-cast metal replica at 1:18 scale, finished in Metallic Blue.

Is the Metallic Blue a genuine factory colour for the 1982 Spider Europa?

Yes. Metallic Blue was among the factory colour options available on the 124 Spider Europa during the early 1980s production years.
