In short

A fully opening 1:18 scale model of the Ferrari Purosangue in Rosso Corsa by BBR Models, with die-cast metal body, photo-etched parts, and a functioning four-wheel steering switch on the underside.

The Ferrari Purosangue was revealed on 13 September 2022 as the marque's first four-door, four-seat production car — and its first five-door body style in over 75 years of road car history. BBR Models has produced this 1:18 scale model in Rosso Corsa, Ferrari's most historically loaded factory colour, capturing a genuine inflection point in Maranello's story. This is the polyfoam-packaged variant, the entry point into BBR's fully opening Purosangue die-cast family.

F175: Ferrari's First Four-Door, Built Around a V12

The Purosangue rides on a bespoke aluminium spaceframe platform coded F175, shared with no other Ferrari. Its 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 — designated F140IA, a development of the unit from the 812 Superfast and GTC4 Lusso with all-new crank, cams, pistons and cylinder heads — produces 725 PS at 7,750 rpm and 716 Nm at 6,250 rpm. Positioned behind the front axle, it gives a 49:51 front-to-rear weight distribution. An 8-speed dual-clutch transaxle drives all four wheels up to 200 km/h, then defaults to rear-wheel drive. Kerb weight is 2,033 kg; 0–100 km/h takes 3.3 seconds; top speed is 310 km/h.

Rosso Corsa on a Four-Door Ferrari

Rosso Corsa has carried Italian racing machinery since the early 20th century, when red was assigned to Italy as its international motor-racing colour. Ferrari has applied it to road and competition cars across every decade since. On the Purosangue — a car Ferrari markets as a Ferrari Utility Vehicle, deliberately sidestepping the SUV label, with "Purosangue" translating as "thoroughbred" in Italian — Rosso Corsa is a standard factory catalogue option. That the marque's first four-door, four-seat model wears its oldest racing colour is a deliberate statement of continuity. Ferrari caps annual Purosangue production at approximately 2,500 units globally, a figure that sharpens collector interest at every scale.

BBR's Fully Opening Die-Cast at 1:18

BBR Models constructs this 1:18 die-cast in die-cast metal and ABS plastic with photo-etched parts and decals. Every one of the four doors opens via telescopic pistons; the front bonnet and rear boot both open; internal armrests and the fuel filler cap are also operational. Four shock-absorbed wheels are steerable, and a switch on the underside replicates the real Purosangue's four-wheel steering by directing the rear wheels in a parallel or opposing direction — a level of mechanical articulation uncommon at this scale. This is the polyfoam-packaged edition; a Luxury Pack variant with display base, plexiglass showcase and cloth cover is available separately.

In the Display Cabinet

The model measures 27.5 cm in length, derived from the real car's 4,973 mm body divided by 18. That requires a shelf depth and width of at least 30 cm to allow the doors to swing open without obstruction — worth accounting for before positioning it. In Rosso Corsa it pairs naturally with BBR's 1:18 Ferrari 812 Superfast or GTC4 Lusso, both sharing the F140-family V12 architecture. Collectors building a timeline of Ferrari's grand touring lineage will find the Purosangue a logical, visually dominant anchor piece at one end of that sequence.

Frequently asked questions

How big is the 1:18 scale model?

The Ferrari Purosangue measures 4,973 mm in real life. Divided by 18, the model is approximately 27.5 cm long. Allow at least 30 cm of shelf width so the four doors can open fully without catching on neighbouring pieces.

Does the model have opening parts?

Yes. All four doors open via telescopic pistons, as do the front bonnet and rear boot. Internal armrests and the fuel filler cap are also operable. The detail is distributed across exterior surfaces and the interior, including the functioning four-wheel steering switch on the underside.

What materials is the model made from?

BBR uses die-cast metal and ABS plastic as the primary materials, supplemented by photo-etched parts and decals. This construction combines the rigidity of metal for major body panels with the precision of ABS for smaller components.

Why is the Purosangue historically significant for Ferrari?

Revealed on 13 September 2022, the Purosangue is Ferrari's first four-door, four-seat production car and its first five-door body style. It retains a naturally aspirated V12 — 6.5 litres, 725 PS — at a time when most rivals have adopted turbocharged or hybrid powertrains. Ferrari limits output to around 2,500 units per year.
