The number 46 has followed Valentino Rossi across two decades of MotoGP and now into GT endurance racing. At the January 2023 Hankook 24H Dubai, Rossi shared the wheel of Team WRT's BMW M4 GT3 with Sean Gelael, Max Hesse, Maxime Martin and Timothy Whale — a five-driver roster permitted under 24H Series regulations for round-the-clock events. The result was a 3rd-place overall finish, a concrete competitive mark early in Rossi's four-wheel career.

BMW M4 GT3: From Road Car to GT3 Contender

The BMW M4 GT3 is built around the production BMW M4 platform and powered by a twin-turbocharged straight-six, adapted to GT3 Balance of Performance regulations. BMW M Motorsport developed the car, fitting a carbon-fibre body kit and a sequential gearbox. It replaced the previous BMW GT3 contender as BMW's primary GT3 customer racing car from the 2022 season onward, fielded by teams including the Belgian outfit Team WRT.

Number 46 on Four Wheels: Rossi and WRT at Dubai Autodrome

Valentino Rossi retired from MotoGP in November 2021 and joined Team WRT — one of BMW M Motorsport's primary customer teams — for his GT3 programme beginning in 2022. The 2023 Hankook 24H Dubai, held at Dubai Autodrome, was part of his continued campaign in the 24H Series. Car #46 wore the yellow-and-black WRT livery, colours that also reference Rossi's VR46 brand identity. The 3rd-place overall result gave the entry documented race provenance and placed Rossi on the podium in only his second full season of GT racing.
