In short

Walter Röhrl's outright-winning Audi Sport quattro S1 E2 from the 1987 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, reproduced by Werk83 as a 1:43 scale model car in die-cast metal with display base and Coffret presentation box.

The 1987 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb was the final year of Audi's official factory programme at the event, and Walter Röhrl's run in car number 1 brought it to a close in the most emphatic fashion. Werk83's 1:43 die-cast replicates the exact livery and race number of that run, presented in a Coffret collector's box with a dedicated display base.

The Audi Sport quattro S1 E2: Engineering at the Limit

The Sport quattro S1 E2 — Evolution 2 — was the most developed form of Audi's Group B quattro programme. Its bodywork was constructed from Kevlar and carbon fibre composites, widened to accommodate revised aerodynamics with large front and rear wings engineered for high-altitude hill climb conditions. The turbocharged DOHC inline-five in Pikes Peak specification benefited from the thin air at altitude reducing turbo back-pressure. Permanent quattro four-wheel drive gave the car a decisive edge on the loose, unpaved Pikes Peak surface.

Röhrl, Car Number 1, and the Last Audi Factory Run

Walter Röhrl took overall victory at the 1987 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the S1 E2, car number 1, on a course that was still entirely unpaved — placing enormous technical and physical demands on both driver and machinery. Audi had entered Pikes Peak between 1985 and 1987, using the event to demonstrate the capabilities of quattro four-wheel drive technology; the 1987 victory was the conclusion of that factory commitment. The car's yellow base livery with red and white accents, carrying prominent Audi Sport graphics, is the image most closely associated with Audi at Pikes Peak.

Werk83 1:43 Die-Cast: The Coffret Box Edition

Werk83 is a Spanish manufacturer specialising in high-quality 1:43 and 1:18 scale models in both resin and die-cast metal. This release is the CB (Coffret Box) variant: it includes a premium display base and special presentation packaging, distinguishing it from standard blister releases. The die-cast construction captures the aggressive aerodynamic bodywork of the S1 E2 — the large wings, widened arches and composite body surfaces — alongside the complete yellow, white and red race livery with race number 1.
