In short

A 500-unit limited resin 1:5 scale model of the white #93 Proton Competition Porsche 911 RSR-19 from the 2021 ELMS season, complete with a 1:5 scale helmet accessory. At approximately 92 cm in length, this Spark Model piece sits at the boundary between scale model and centrepiece sculpture.

The Porsche 911 RSR-19 is the 991.2-generation successor to the 2017-specification RSR, introduced in 2019 and built around a carbon-fibre monocoque measuring 4,593 mm in length with a 2,513 mm wheelbase. Designed by Grant Larson, it is powered by the M97/80, a 4,194 cc naturally-aspirated flat-six producing around 510 PS, mounted mid-ship and driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed sequential paddle-shift gearbox. It competed in the LM GTE category across the FIA WEC and the European Le Mans Series — classes that would eventually be phased out, making the RSR-19 the final expression of this mid-engined GTE architecture.

The Last of the Mid-Engined GTE Porsches

Homologated for LM GTE competition, the RSR-19 replaced the earlier 991.1-based 2017 RSR and brought revised aerodynamics, updated carbon structure and Michelin or Goodyear rubber depending on the series. Braking is handled by 390 mm ventilated steel discs, and the car runs at a minimum weight of 1,245 kg subject to Balance of Performance. Its combination of naturally-aspirated output, rear-wheel drive and rear-biased weight distribution made setup philosophy a constant discussion in the Proton Competition garage throughout 2021.

Fassbender, Lietz and the #93 Through Five ELMS Rounds

Proton Competition — founded in 1996 and based in Ummendorf, Baden-Württemberg, and led by team principal Christian Ried — entered the RSR-19 in the ELMS for the first time in 2021. The #93 line-up of Irish actor and racing driver Michael Fassbender (Bronze), Austrian Porsche works driver Richard Lietz and German Silver-rated Felipe Fernández Laser was carried over intact from the 2020 season. The car ran a predominantly white livery with green and orange sponsor accents across rounds at Barcelona, the Red Bull Ring, Paul Ricard, Spa-Francorchamps and Portimão, collecting fourth-place LMGTE finishes at Spa and Portimão. At Paul Ricard, New Zealander Jaxon Evans substituted for Fernández Laser, who was committed to the Nürburgring 24 Hours that same weekend — making that single round the only occasion the four-driver roster shown on this model ever shared the same car. Fassbender's Road to Le Mans YouTube documentary series gave the #93 an unusually wide public profile for a GTE Am entry.

Spark Model at 1:5: Resin, Scale and Construction

Spark Model produced this piece in white resin, limited to 500 units worldwide. At 1:5 scale the model measures approximately 92 cm in length — a format Spark reserves for high-visibility commemorative sets and delivers here with an included 1:5 scale helmet accessory, matching the car's season configuration. The resin construction means no opening panels; surface and aerodynamic detail — including the RSR-19's characteristic wide rear bodywork and flat-bottom diffuser geometry — is carried entirely through the exterior finish and moulding.

Scale, Space and the Collection Context

At roughly 92 cm, the 1:5 Spark Model demands a dedicated shelf or plinth rather than a conventional display cabinet. It pairs logically with the Spark 1:5 Porsche 911 RSR-19 #93 Proton Competition 2020 edition — the debut season of the same Fassbender/Lietz/Laser trio — and with Spark's 1:43 rendering of the identical 2021 car for collectors who want both scales represented. The 500-unit edition size positions it firmly among display-grade limited collectibles rather than open-run shelf models.

Frequently asked questions

How big is the 1:5 scale model?

The real Porsche 911 RSR-19 measures 4,593 mm in length. At 1:5 scale the model comes out at approximately 92 cm — closer to a metre-long centrepiece than a conventional shelf model. Plan for a dedicated display surface of at least 100 cm in width to accommodate the car and its included helmet accessory.

Does the model have opening parts?

The fact sheet lists opening parts as unconfirmed. As a resin model, it is most likely a sealed body with no opening doors, bonnet or engine cover. All detail is concentrated on the exterior surfaces: the RSR-19's aerodynamic bodywork, wide rear haunches and diffuser geometry.

Who are the drivers represented, and did they all race the #93 together?

The model commemorates the full 2021 ELMS roster associated with car #93: Michael Fassbender, Richard Lietz, Felipe Fernández Laser and Jaxon Evans. Fassbender, Lietz and Fernández Laser ran together for the majority of the season. Evans substituted for Fernández Laser at the Paul Ricard round only, as Laser was competing in the Nürburgring 24 Hours that same weekend. The four-driver configuration therefore existed for exactly one race.

What is the RSR-19 and how does it differ from earlier Porsche GTE racers?

The RSR-19 is the 991.2-generation evolution of the Porsche 911 RSR, introduced in 2019 as successor to the 991.1-based 2017 RSR designed by Grant Larson. It uses a 4,194 cc naturally-aspirated flat-six (the M97/80, circa 510 PS) in a mid-mounted configuration and was homologated for the LM GTE class in both the FIA WEC and ELMS. It represents the final generation of this mid-engined GTE Porsche architecture before the GTE category was discontinued.
