In short

A 1:18 scale model of Ferrari's watershed F175 FUV with all four doors, bonnet, boot and fuel cap operational. BBR's underside steering switch replicates the Purosangue's real independent four-wheel steering system.

World-premiered on 13 September 2022 at the Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico, Pisa, the Ferrari Purosangue carries the internal chassis code F175 and holds the distinction of being the first four-door, four-seat production car in Ferrari's 75-year history. BBR Models has translated that milestone into a 1:18 scale model of exceptional mechanical fidelity, rendered in Rosso Corsa with a black roof — the most direct visual link to Maranello's competition identity.

The F175: Ferrari's most technically ambitious road car

Beneath the Purosangue's 4,973 mm body sits a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 (engine code F140 IA) producing 725 PS at 7,750 rpm, with a redline of 8,250 rpm. Its cylinder heads are derived directly from the 812 Competizione. Drive goes through an 8-speed dual-clutch transaxle mounted at the rear, delivering a 49:51 front-to-rear weight distribution and a 0–100 km/h time of 3.3 seconds. At launch, Ferrari's Active Suspension Technology using Multimatic TASV dampers represented a world first, paired with independent four-wheel steering and a 6-way Chassis Dynamic Sensor.

Rosso Corsa and the black roof: a two-tone with historical weight

Rosso Corsa traces its identity to the pre-war national racing colour system, under which Italian competition entries ran in red. Ferrari has maintained it as the defining hue in its paint palette ever since. On the Purosangue, the combination of Rosso Corsa bodywork with a black roof creates a two-tone presentation that acknowledges the car's sporting lineage while working with its crossover proportions. This specific black-roof specification is a distinct release from the panoramic-roof variant produced within the same BBR diecast programme, giving it a cleaner, more focused silhouette.

BBR's 1:18 scale model: die-cast with working four-wheel steering

BBR constructs this 1:18 model from die-cast metal and ABS plastic, supplemented with photo-etched parts and decals. All four doors open — the front pair on conventional hinges, the rear pair as coach (rear-hinged) doors — actuated by telescopic pistons that mirror the real car's geometry. The bonnet, boot lid, fuel filler cap and interior armrests are also operational. Most unusually, a switch on the underside allows the rear wheels to be set in parallel or counter-steer configuration, reproducing the Purosangue's independent four-wheel steering at scale. The model is officially licensed by Ferrari.

In the display cabinet: dimensions and collection context

At 27.5 cm in length, this model demands a shelf depth of at least 12 cm and benefits from a dedicated showcase — included in this variant. The Luxury Pack supplies an eco-leather display base with red stitching, a fabric car cover, a lever handling tool and a cleaning brush, allowing the model to be repositioned without risk to the paintwork. For collectors building a coherent Ferrari V12 line-up, it pairs naturally with the 1:18 BBR Ferrari Roma (which shares the Purosangue's platform) or the BBR Ferrari 812 Competizione, whose V12 cylinder heads were the direct donor for the F140 IA engine.

Frequently asked questions

How big is the 1:18 scale model?

The real Ferrari Purosangue measures 4,973 mm in length. Divided by 18, the model comes out at approximately 27.5 cm. Allow a shelf depth of at least 12 cm and ensure the showcase base is factored into the footprint when planning display space.

Does the model have opening parts?

Yes — extensively. All four doors open via telescopic pistons (front doors on conventional hinges, rear doors as coach/rear-hinged units). The front bonnet, rear boot lid, fuel filler cap and interior armrests also open. Detail is concentrated across the engine bay, the four-seat interior and the aerodynamic body surfaces.

What materials does BBR use in this model?

The construction combines die-cast metal and ABS plastic with photo-etched components and decals. The four wheels are shock-absorbed and steerable; an underside switch selects parallel or counter-steer rear-wheel configuration, replicating the real car's four-wheel steering system.

What makes the Purosangue significant enough to collect?

The Ferrari Purosangue is the first four-door, four-seat production car in Ferrari's 75-year history, world-premiered on 13 September 2022. Ferrari officially classifies it as an FUV (Ferrari Utility Vehicle) and has stated it will not exceed 20% of annual production volume, reinforcing its status as a historically bounded model.
